Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane/Adelaide/Fremantle Local Charges
Due to local charges being increased by Australian port corporations, the local port charges for Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane/Adelaide/Fremantle (import 'PSU' and export 'WHF') will increase from 1 July 2011.
The charges have now been updated on the "Australian Port Charges" page.

2010/10/1 - Fremantle Local Charges
Due to an increase in costs at Fremantle empty container yard, the equipment handling charge ('THD') on import containers for Fremantle will increase from 1 October 2010.

2009/07/01 - China R24 Rule
China Customs "24-Hour Rule" (R24) is currently in testing/parallel-running stage with Chinese Customs departments.
When live, it will be applicable for all cargo calling directly at mainland China ports (excludes Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan), either as final destination or T/S port.

2011/11/15 -Melbourne,Sydney,Brisbane,Adelaide and Fremantle Terminal Handling Charge (DTHC)
Due to an increase in costs the Cosco Australian Import Terminal Handling Charge ('DTHC') for Melbourne,Sydney,Brisbane,Adelaide and Fremantle will increase by AUD10.00 per import unit from 15th November, 2011.

2011/11/10 -Sydney Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS)
During the past few months, berth congestion, poor terminal productivity and subsequent vessel delays at the Port of Sydney has disrupted COSCO vessel schedules, adding substantial cost to vessel operations through Sydney. As a result of additional costs incurred, it is necessary for COSCO to implement a Sydney Port Congestion Surcharge('PCS') for all shipments arriving at Sydney by USD100 per 20ft container and USD200 per 40ft container from 10th November, 2011.
