About Five Star Shipping

Founded on October 1, China's National Day, in 1980, Five Star Shipping was the first Sino-Australian Joint Venture Company established in Australia - a partnership between COSCO and Burns Philp & Co Ltd. In January 1994, Five Star Shipping became a wholly-owned COSCO Group Company.

Since 1980, Five Star has been the COSCO agent for both Liner Container Services and Bulk Vessels, handling more than 400 bulk vessel calls to Australia every year. COSCO is the world's largest shipping line, with more than 600 vessels.

COSCO Container Lines (COSCON) is the world's third largest container vessel owner, and growing rapidly every year. COSCON with its extensive new building programme, has one of the newest fleets. Every year sees COSCON expand its Liner Service Routes into a new area.

COSCO Liner Services has a weekly vessel on both the Sino/Australia Service and the Japan/Korea/Australian Service.

With COSCON's extensive network, this allows Five Star to accept your cargo on any of COSCON's Liner Service Routes.
